日高沿岸のホッケ Pleurogrammus azonus の産卵場について Spawning Grounds for Greenling Pleurogrammus azonus in Hidaka, off the Pacific Coast of Hokkaido 入江, 隆彦 イリエ, タカヒコ Irie, Takahiko 入江 イリエ Irie 隆彦 タカヒコ Takahiko metadata only access The Hokke, Pleurogrammus azonus Jordan et Metz, distributes off the coasts of Hokkaido, northern part of Honshu, Korea, Maritime Provinces, southern part of Sakhalin, and Southern Kuriles. This paper is a report of Hokke spawning grounds, newly found along the coast of Hidaka, and the biological characteristics of the spawners. Mature fish were collected near the coast of Ogifushi, Hidaka. Body lengths were 31.1 - 38.6cm for males and 31.7- 48.8cm for females. Age, determined from the scales, was 3-6 years and older specimens were observed. They partly mature at age 3 and are almost mature at age 4. The spawning season is thought to be from mid-October to late October. Two factors are thought to be important for Hokke Spawning grounds. One is topographical, a place with a strong current and stony bottom, adjacent to the 200 m contour line; another factor is oceanographical, that the area is affected by the Tsushima Warm Waters from fall to winter. The Hidaka spawners have not seemed important for commercial fishery.
