          <dc:description>The Ulva pertusa vegetation density in the Issiki intertidal flat (about 10km²) of Mikawa Bay, Japan was observed visually and quadrately four times in 1986, following our previous work (1987) in 1985, for a further investigation of the biomass, growth rate and its limiting factors. The dry/wet weight ratio was about 1/10 which is equal to that of 1985. In September probably at the maximum, the vegetation density was very thin (about 100g dry/m²) and also the biomass was very small (about 100ton dry) compared with those of 1985 (about 300g dry/m² and 1,000ton dry) probably due to some artificial disturbances and unfavourable climatic conditions. The growth rate estimated from the biomass change was 7 to 25% corresponding to the vegetation density level from above to below of several tens of g dry/m², respectively, namely large in young stage and in high water temperature. A main factor limiting the growth was considered to be climatic conditions, probably water temperature above all, together with nutrient salt supply.</dc:description>
          <dc:description>三河湾一色干潟(10km²)におけるアナアオサの生育密度を,1985年の我々の調査(1987)に引き続いて,1986年に4回にわたる目視と枠取りによって調べ,現存量,成長率及びその制限因子を推定した。アナアオサの乾/湿重量比は1985年と同じく1/10であった。最も繁茂したと思われる9月の生育密度は約100g乾/m²,現存量は約100 ton乾で1985年(約300g乾/m², 1,000 ton乾)に比べ生育が悪かった。これは恐らく人為的攪乱と気象条件が良くなかったためと考えられた。成長率は,生育密度が数10g乾/m²を境に,それより粗では日間25%に及び,それより密では日間7%と推定された。アオサが若く,また水温が高いほど生育が良いことがうかがわれた。生長の主な制限因子は,栄養塩供給の他に気象条件,特に水温と考えられた。</dc:description>
