<dc:description>The authors measured the noise level aboard the coastal fishing boats. These boats are between 9.95 and 13.00 meters long and made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. (Table 1, 2, Fig. 1.) The gist is as follows. 1. Noise level under running of these boats is except a few boats: Engine room: 105~115dB(A) General workshop: 80~90 dB(A) (Table 3, Fig.2.) (Deck, steering house etc.) 2. Noise level at the general workshop has a easy-sloping climax between 100 and 1 kHz. (Fig. 3.) 3. Except D and E Maru, each boat has a simple door (about 60 cm × 60 cm) between engine room and the next room and it's opening and shutting has a great influence on the next room's noise level especially at high frequency part and little at low frequency part. (Fig. 4.) 4. It's reason is, as a result of speaker test, that the solid borne sound is superior to the air borne sound below about 1 kHz but in contrast with this, beyond that frequency, the air borne sound is superior.
