          <dc:description>In order to calculate the tidal current correctly for evaluating the water quality of a bay, it is necessary to compare a calculation result with an observed value at the point at which the maximum tidal current velocity generates. The area for calculation is Asou bay in Tsushima Island. It is a closed bay that is being used for aquaculture. The bay has a narrow channel called Manzeki-Seto at the east side. Through the channel, the seawater is flowing violently, sometimes from an open boundary of the east side, and sometimes from the bay. It is an important channel to exchange the seawater of the closed bay. Manzeki-Seto-Channel is one of "the waterways to be developed". The waterway is used frequently by large-sized vessels and fishing boats etc. Therefore, it was rather difficult to observe in the waterway. There is no archived observational data relevant to compare with our computed data. We performed tide level and current observation in Manzeki-Seto-Channel. The observation result of a current was verified by numerical computation. As a result, it turned out that flow velocities are about 2.0m/s (from west to east), 1.0m/s (from east to west) in the time of the spring tide and 1.5m/s (from west to east), 0.5m/s (from east to west) in the time of the neap tide.</dc:description>
