内容記述 Paralithodes brevipes Brandt was reared from egg to the first young crab in the laboratory at the Akkeshi Marine Biological Station of the Hokkaido University, and, in the present paper, its larval stages are described. The larva, hatched in prezoea (Fig. 1, a-d), molts into the first zoea in a few minutes after hatching. By successive three zoeal ecdysis the glaucothoe is produced, and then the glaucothoe changes into the first young crab by a single molt. The first zoea (Fig. 2, a-d) is about 1.41 mm. in carapace length. There are red chromatophores on the carapace, at the base of the rostrum, on the basipodites of three pairs of maxillipeds, sternal surface of the cephalothorax and along the intestine. The chromatophores along the intestine extend as far back as the third abdominal segment, while the remaining parts of the abdomen including the telson are colorless. The second antennae are tinged with faint blue. The third maxillipeds are functionless. The abdomen is made up of five segments and the telson. The second zoea (Fig. 2, e & f) is about 1.49 mm. in carapace length. The third maxillipeds are functional with six long plumose setae on the exopods. The third zoea (Fig. 2, g-j) is about 1.68 mm. in carapace length. The abdomen is of six segments plus telson. The glaucothöe (Fig. 3, a-f) is about 1.60 mm. in carapace length. The body is flattened dorsoventraly. The animals swim by means of their setosed pleopods with their four pairs of legs outstretched forwards. Lablum, labium and appendages forming mouth part - the mandibles, maxillulae, maxillae (except the scaphognathites) and the first and second maxillipeds - are almost devoid of teeth, spines or setae which are present in the zoea-stages and will reappear in the first young crab with more thickness than they possessed in the zoea-stages. It is to be noted that this temporary degeneration of mouth part in the glaucothoe is concurrent with temporary disappearence of setae along the inner surface of the wall of oesophagus and stomach. The first young crab (Fig. 3, g-l) measures 1.78 mm. in carapace length. The abdomen is folded underneath the cephalothorax with its reduced, rod-like remnants of pleopods, and the animals no longer swim. Sometimes, probably owing to the unsuitableness of foods given or of temperature, there occur Larvae which are never seen in the normal course of development. These abnormal larvae, so far obtained, emerge only from normal second zoeae when the zoeae complete their second zoeal ecdysis, and show so-called "prothetery" representing the intermediate form between true third (last) zoea and the glaucothoe. 内容記述 ハナサキガニ,Paralithodes brevipes Brandt,を卵から稚ガニまで継続的に飼育して,各幼生期の外部形態を調べた。幼生はプリゾエアで孵化し,普通2,3分後に脱皮して第1期ゾエアとなる。ゾエアは3回脱皮してグローコテとなり,グローコテは1回の脱皮で第1期稚ガニとなる。幼生の変態過程で,口部器管の大部分,食道·胃の内面の歯·棘または剛毛が,グローコテで1時的に退化し,第1期稚ガニで再生することが注目された。飼育中,恐らく温度,栄養などが不適なため,畸型幼生が生ずることがあつた。畸型ができるのは,いままでの例では,いつも最終期ゾエア(第2回のゾエア脱皮をしたとき)に限られ,必ず最終期ゾエアとグローコテとの中間的な形態をもつていた。このような中間型幼生はいままでに11尾(正常な最終期幼生に対して4.7%)得られている。
