| 内容記述 | Two marine diatom species, Plagiogrammopsis vanheurckii (GRUN.) HASLE et al. and Extubocellulus spinifer (HARG. & GUILL.) HASLE et al., which belong to Cymatosiraceae (Bacillariophyceae), were first detected from the sea around the Japanese coast, and the fine structures of these species were observed by electron microscopy. P. vanheurckii, taken from the Eastern China Sea, formed somewhat longer chains than had been reported previously. It was evident that the reflexed branches at the lower part of the marginal spines helped the cells in the formation of elongated chains. Cells of E. spinifer were collected from the Kashima-nada, off Ibaraki Prefecture in the Pacific. It was found in this study that E. spinifer has external vela of rota type on the valve face. | |||||

HASLE et al. および Extubocellulus spinifer (HARG,& GUILL.)HASLE et al. が日本近海に出現することが確認された。電子顕徴鏡によりこれら二種の微細構造を観察したところ,P.vanheurckii の群体は従来の報告に比較すると長いが,これは蓋殻面に存在する周辺棘下部にときおりみられる分岐に一因があることが示唆された。また,E.spinifer ではこれまで蓋殻面の小室に篩膜の存在が確認されていなかったが,輪形篩膜状の外部篩膜が存在することが明らかとなった。 | |||||
