On the digestion of the Kombu powder, Meicelase P produced D-glucose and cellobiose more rapidly than visceral extracts, but did'nt produce other sugars. Therefore, it seemed that this enzyme was not active towards algal polysaccharides other than cellulose. On the other hand, visceral extracts produced not only glucose, but also D-xylose, L-fucose, D-galactose and an unknown substance, and showed hydrolizing activity for several polysaccharides. Maximal saccharification of the Kombu was 13% of the whole powder, i.e., 19% of contained carbohydrate, using Meicelase P at 37°C for 24 h, and the values obtained by digestion with the visceral extracts were 20% and 29%, spectively. The use of the mixture of extracts prepared from the viscera of some different species, or, the combined use of the visceral extracts and Meicelase P were effective for increasing the saccharification rate.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"コンブの多糖類を糖化する目的で,ヒザラガイ,小型巻貝類などの内臓抽出液,および市販セルラーゼ製剤(Meicelase P)による,コンブ乾燥粉末の酵素分解を検討し,以下の結果を得た。1.
