The results obtained were as follows: 1) Preservative effect of gas generator and/or absorber was not so apparent; the extension of shelf life by using free-O₂ absorber or ethanol-generator was only 1 day compared to unsealed samples, while that of CO₂-generator was about 2~3 days. 2) The meat colour of the deoxidized samples was tinged with red and did not disappear during storage.
