The results obtained were as follows. 1) Acid values of the lipids from raw frozen krill were 25.2-90,2 and higher than the 10. 0-33. 2 values of the lipids from boiled then frozen krill. This shows that hydrolysis of lipids with lipolytic enzymes occurred during the storage of raw frozen krill. 2) The contents of unsaponifiables in lipids were 2,81-12.8% in boiled krill and these figures were lower than the 3.28-14.3% in lipids from raw frozen krill. This shows that the loss of free fatty acids produced by lipid hydrolysis occurred in raw frozen krill and this brought about the relative increase in the unsaponifiable content. 3) Iodine values of the lipids in raw frozen and boiled frozen krill were 127.5- 169. 2 and 129. 0-157. 3, respectively. No particular difference between raw frozen and boiled frozen krill was observed. 4) Vitamin A content in the lipids from raw frozen and boiled frozen krill were 115-511 I.U./g oil in 1975/76 samples, 53-377 I.U./g oil in 1976/77 samples and 43-241 I.U./g oil in 1977/78 samples.
