| 内容記述 | Jellied swordfish Xiphias gladius as well as jellied yellowfin tuna Thunnus albacares often troubles fish dealers and fishermen in transaction of those fishes. Since the outward appearance of the jellied condition of two fishes quite resemble each other, both are commonly refered to as "Azuki" in Japan. This author has previously confirmed by histological and chemical studies that the jellification of yellowfin tuna meat is directly caused by proteases derived from a myxosporidian parasite Hexacapsula neothunni. In oeder to elucidate the cause of swordfish meat jellification, the process of tissue degeneration was observed histologically as a preliminary examination. Aggregates containing numerous spores of myxosporidia Chloromyxum musculoliquefaciens were observed inside some muscle fibers of the tissue which was at the premonitory stage of jellification. The tissue destruction began from the parasitized muscle fiber and gradually spread to the surrounding un-infected fibers, developing into a milky pocket. This destructive process is very similar to that observed in parasitized yellowfin tuna meat. From these findings, it could be concluded that the swordfish meat jellification is, as in the case of yellowfin tuna, attributable to the muscle tissue destruction caused by proteases secreted by myxosporidian parasite. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 粘液胞子虫 Chloromyxum musculoliquefaciens が無数の胞子から成る集合体となってメカジキ肉筋織維内に検出された。肉の組織崩壊が感染筋繊維からはじまり,次第に周辺筋繊維に広がって行くというジェリー化の過程が組織学的に観察された。Hexacapsula neothunni 感染キハダマグロの場合と同様,メカジキジェリートの原因も胞子虫のプロテアーゼによる組織破壊と考えられた。 | |||||
