| 内容記述 | Our knowledge of the sponge-fauna of Japan and its adjacent waters is deficient, because of the scanty stuides on the sponges of these sea areas. Several investigators have reproted on the Japanese sponges, but those were very regional and fragmentary. The best-known locality for sponges in the Japanese waters is Sagami Bay and already nearly 100 species of the Demospongiae had been reported from this bay. Through the courtesies of Dr. Hirosaki, I was favoured with the opportunity to study the sponge-collection made by the members of the Enoshima Aquarium. The list of the species discriminated in the collection is shown in Table 1. The species of the Demospongiae hitherto reported from Sagami Bay are listed in Table 2. In addition to this, the Calcarea of the same bay is shown in Table 3. | |||||||||||
