| 内容記述 | Few previous reports show that a species of Laminaria is found in south of the Ozika Peninsula which is to boundary for them distributing toward south, off Matsushima Bay and the coastal area of Fukushima a past. During 1971 through 1972, Laminaria religiosa appears in large quantities in Matsushima Bay. In the spring season of 1972, more than 1,000 tons in wet weight of Laminaria grows wildly on bamboos, rafts and substratum on the bottom inside the bay. It is rare that such a luxuriant growth of Laminaria occurred in the bay. In the present paper, the observations on the growth of the species in the bay is described. And also the reason for such a singular phenomenon is discussed in relation to the environmental conditions in 1971 and 1972 that was effected by the cold current. It is guessed that the distribution of the spores was caused by the cargo boats eutering the bay from the northern sea area or by the experimental cultivation. | |||||
