| 内容記述 | Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonica) larvae defecated gut contents probably due to stress when proved with a dissecting needle or when the ambient seawater was gradually removed from a small laboratory dish. Twenty-three out of thirty 8- or 9-day-old larvae and thirteen out of seventeen 19-, 20-, or 21-day-old larvae defecated most of their gut contents in a plankton net towed at approximately 2.5 m/s for 5 minutes. These results suggest that the very low feeding incidences reported for many species of field-caught anchovy larvae may be attributable to defecation induced by physical stress resulting from plankton net collection. | |||||

| 内容記述 | カタクチイワシ仔魚が,実験的に加えられたストレスにより消化管内容物を肛門から急速に排出することを観察した.また,プランクトンネット採集の影響を調べるために行った水槽実験では,47個体中36個体の仔魚がネット内でほとんどすべてまたは大部分の消化管内容物を排出し,残り11個体も内容物の一部を排出した. ネット採集された天然のカタクチイワシ科魚類の仔魚では,他と較べて極端に低い摂餌率が知られているが,この原因はネット採集時のストレスによる消化管内容物の排出であることが推測された. | |||||
