| 内容記述 | The larvae of the saury, Cololabis saira (BREVOORT), deficient in pigmentation on the dorsal part of the head were observed under breeding conditions, one hour to three days after hatching. The dorsal part of the head showed no histological difference between the larvae with and without head pigmentation 15 hours after hatching. Also no histological difference in the same part was observed between the newly hatched larvae without pigmentation and the four-days old pigmented larvae, except for the differerce in the ratio of pineal body window on the dorsal area of the head. The pigmentation of the head varied rapidly with the changes in light condition and the effect of anesthetic. From these findings, the pigmentation of the head is thought to be controlled by the neural system. | |||||||||||
