| 内容記述 | We examined the age, growth and maturation of the Japanese flounder Paralichthys olivaceus collected from coastal waters of northern Sanriku, northeast Japan. No significant difference in the regression coefficient and the adjusted mean was found for the relationship of total length and body weight between female and male. The combined equation is : W=3.117·10-6·L3.215 where W is body weight (g), and L total length (mm). For the purpose of aging, otholiths on the blind side were sectioned in the direction of their short axis, and rings observed under binocular microscope. On the assumption that growth applies to the von Bertalanffy equation, the following equations were obtained : Female : Lt=896.6·(1-e-0.1576·(t+1.238)) Male : Lt=592.1·(1-e-0.2735·(t+1.151)) where t is age, and Lt total length at t age. Though there is little difference in the growth rate between female and male until about two years old, that for females was faster than males over this age. From the examination of gonad maturation, the minimum size of the maturation in female and male is 440 mm and 350 mm total length, respectively at an age of three and two years old for female and male, respectively. | |||||||||||
