| 内容記述 | The otolith microstructure of 48 Pacific saury, Cololabis saira, were observed under light microscope (LM) and under scanning electron microscope (SEM). Daily-like increments, that appeared to have been produced on a daily basis, within the whole opaque zone were observable for all otoliths (100%) under LM, whereas for only 14 otoliths (29%) under SEM. Widths between subsequent increments and radii of all increments from 22 otoliths were measured under LM. Subdaily-like increments were sometimes observed between the core and ca. the 40th increment. Width of the first increment outside of the hatching increment was 3.99±0.90 (SD) μm. Width reached a maximum of 4.07±0.45 μm at the 21st±12th increment and 98±40 μm in radius. Then it decreased and reached a minimum of 1.60±0.34 μm at the 87th±15th increment and 268±44 μm in radius. A maximum width of 3.19±0.57 μm occurred again at the 180th±23th increment and 479±54 μm in radius. Each growth curve estimated for 6 fish (202-272 mm in knob length (KnL)) had an inflection point, before and after which the growth rate slowed down and then speeded up, at 70-120 day and 86-140 mm in KnL. | 内容記述 | 光学顕微鏡(光顕)と走査型電子顕微鏡(電顕)を用いて48個体のサンマ(Cololabis saira)耳石の微細輪紋を観察した.耳石不透明帯の全ての部位で日周輪様輪紋(輪紋)を観察できた個体は,光顕では48個体(100%)であったが,電顕では14個体(29%)にとどまった.光顕で計測した22個体の輪紋間隔の推移は以下の通りであった.輪紋数0-40本前後に3-4μm間隔で形成される輪紋の間に擬輪が認められた.孵化輪の外側1本目の輪紋間隔は3.99±0.90 μmであった.輪紋間隔は拡大してゆき,最初に極大になる部位は,輪紋数21±12本(n=22)目,輪径98±40μm(n=22)で,その部位の輪紋間隔は4.07±0.45μm(n=22)であった.この極大点以降輪紋間隔は次第に狭くなり,輪紋数87±15本(n=22)目,輪径268±44μm(n=22)で,輪紋間隔は1.60±0.34μm(n=22)と極小となった.その外側では輪紋間隔が増大し,輪紋数180±23本(n=22)目,輪径479±54μm(n=22)で再び極大となり,その輪紋間隔は3.19±0.57 μm(n=22)であった.さらに外側では輪紋間隔が再び狭くなっていき,透明帯に到って輪紋は認められなくなった.体長202-272 mmの6個体の成長を推定したところ,孵化後70-120日,体長86-140mmに成長が一度停滞し再び早くなる変曲点が認められた.また,150日齢の体長には34.6mm の差があった. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
