内容記述 A genetic method is proposed to evaluate the effect of stocking on natural population and estimate the size of natural population before stocking. If two populations which have different gene frequency are mixed, a proportion of each population can be estimated by mixed population model. That is, the proportion of natural population (yw) in mixed population can be calculated by yw=(x-ps)/(pw-ps), where, pw, ps, and x are gene frequencies in natural population, stocked population, and sample after stocking, respectively. If an isozyme is used as a genetic marker for examination of stocking with mixed population model and mark-recaptured method; (1) the effect of stocking on natural population could be evaluated by comparing gene frequency of natural population with mixed population, and comparing genotype frequencies of mixed population with genotype frequencies expected . under the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, and (2) the distribution of stocked population could be estimated from number of stocked population weighted by catch per unit effort in mixed population, and also (3) the size of natural population before stocking could be estimated by the Petersen method using the size of stocked population, total estimated number of natural population in sample and total estimated number of stocked population in sample. This method seems to have the following advantages: small size fish can be used at release, large-scale stocking is possible without special handling prior to release, without influence of marking on fish, and investigation of long-term effects of stocking on natural population is possible. While the dis-advantages of this method are as follows: this method can be applied only once, identification of stocked fish is impossible, and breeding of stocked population is complicated. In case of ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis) mdh BF gene frequency of the artificial seed from the Gunma Prefectural Fisheries Experimental Station differs significantly from that of the natural seed from Lake Biwa. Therefore, the effect of stocking on natural population can be expected if the artificial seed is stocked in Lake Biwa and a proportion of stocked population in mixed population exceeds 2.5%.
