| 内容記述 | Chum salmon fry, Oncorhynchus keta, were fed diets containing 20% level of either cellulose (control), glucose, fructose, galactose, sucrose, maltose, lactose, dextrin or gelatinized potato starch as a carbohydrate source, and growth, feed efficiency, body composition, and hepatosomatic index were determined. The fish fed the diets containing either of glucose, sucrose, maltose, dextrin and gelatinized potato starch showed almost the same growth and these growth rates were better than those of the remaining groups excluding control group. In all treatments, only the fish fed the dextrin or gelatinized potato starch diet showed significantly higher growth rate than that fed the control diet. The highest feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio were obtained from the fish fed the gelatinized potato starch diet. Body protein contents of fish fed the diets containing monosaccharide were lower than those fed the diets containing disaccharide or polysaccharide. The liver glycogen concentration was highest in the glucose group, followed by the gelatinized potato starch and dextrin groups. Hepatosomatic index of fish fed the glucose diet was higher than the that of any other dietary groups. It can be concluded from these results that chum salmon fry utilize carbohydrates as an energy source not so efficiently. However, sucrose and carbohydrates consisting only of glucose as a building unit can be relatively well utilized and gelatinized potato starch might be the best choice as a dietary carbohydrate for chum salmon fry among carbohydrates examined. | |||||
