| 内容記述 | The influence of adult splenectomy on humoral and alloimmune response was investigated in the marine teleost, S. marmoratus. Fish were kept at 23℃ and were injected three times with 5 μl/g body weight of 20 % sheep erythrocytes (SRBC) intraperitoneally. Significant lower titres of antibody were observed in the serum of splenectomized fish when they were splenect- omized one month and re-operated one week before antigen administration. However, no difference in the level of antibody response was noted between splenectomized and sham-splenectomized rock fish when they were splenectomized one week before or after antigen injection. In addition, splenectomy had no effect on the allograft rejection when scales were grafted one week or one month after splenectomy. These results indicate that the spleen can not be the only site of antibody induction or formation and does not play a significant role in allograft rejection in this species, though it has an function on maturation of immunocompetent cells to some extent. | |||||||
