We aim to verify whether the bacteria (Thalassobacter utilis PM4) used in this technique can reduce the pathogenicity of Vibrio sp. Zoea 85Z-1 (Muroga et al. 1985) and can repress the growth of V. sp. Zoea 85Z-1 or not. Challenge tests with various concentrations of V. sp. Zoea 85Z-1 were made agaist hatched nauplii of brine shrimp (Artemia sp. ) under presence or absence of T. utilis PM4 (105~ 106 CFU / ml). At high concentrations of V. sp. Zoea 85Z-1 (>104 CFU / ml), mortalities (>50%) were observed, however, T. utilis PM4 did not show significant supression effects on the mortalities. On the double layer plate with T. utilis PM4, V. sp.
