| 内容記述 | There are about 2, 900 fishing ports all over Japan. Before the construction of a fishing port on soft ground starts, soil surveys are always carried out. These soil survey reports are very valuable for studying engineering characteristics of soft ground. The authors have been collecting the soil survey reports of the construction works which were carried out past several years in fishing port areas in Japan, and studied physical and mechanical properties of soft ground. In the previous report, Technical Report of N. R. I. F. E. Aquaculture and Fishing Port No. 4, the correlations between physical properties of soft ground in Kyushu district were presented. This report deals with the correlations between the physical properties and the unconfined compressive strength of soft ground in Chugoku and Shikoku districts. The following conclusions can be drawn : 1. In Chugoku and Shikoku districts as a whole, good correlations between the physical properties are not found. 2. Some regional differences are observed the physical properties. 3. Using Plasticity Index as parameter, a general trend in relations between unconfined compressive strength and water content is found. But there are no sufficiently good correlations. | |||||
