Prior to the construction of a fishing port on the soft ground, soil surveys are always carried out. These soil survey reports are very valuable for studying engineering characteristics of the soft ground. The author has collected soil survey reports of the construction works which were carried out in fishing port areas in Japan in the past several years and studied physical and mechanical properties of the soft ground. In the previous reports, Technical Report of N. R.I. F.E. Aquaculture and Fishing Port No.4, 6, 7, the correlations between physical and mechanical properties of the soft ground in Kyushn, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kinki and Chubu districts were presented. This report deals with the correlations between physical and mechanical properties of the soft ground in Hokkaido, Tohoku and Kanto districts.
