| 内容記述 | The authors proposed a new method for interchanging sea water in which fresh sea water is drawn into the harbor by raising the mean water level through the wave breaking process over the submerged rubble mound. A hydraulic model test was executed to prove this method to be useful for interchanging sea water and to present and appropriate design of such a structure. It was derived from the experimental results that the interchange of flow did not vary depending on the distance between the upright section of the breakwater and the submerged mound. Especially, it was found that the water flow reached the maximum in the case of the submerged mound's crest height was equal to the sea water level. Besides, the flow calculating chart for the estimation of interchange of flow was given under several hypotheses. Waves transmitted through the opening of the breakwater proved to have very little influence on harbor tranquility. | |||||
