| 内容記述 | Mn flux was estimated in the Yellow Sea in summer 1993. Sediment traps were moored for 24 hours to collect settling particles for calculation of Mn vertical flux in the central part of the Yellow Sea that should be considered as a typical marginal sea. During studied period, stratified condition was maintained and clear picnocline was observed at the depth of 40 m. Below this picnocline, the distribution of particulate matter was considered to be influenced strongly by resuspension of surface sediment from the sea bed (76 m) to the upper water column, which caused an overestimation of flux of settling particles. Assuming that the influence of resuspension was minimal above the pycnocline (40 m), the effect of resuspension to the real vertical flux was examined. From the resultsl experiment, more than 99.9% of observed Mn flux below the well developed picnocline was estimated to be an overestimation derived from the resuspended particles from the sea bed. Excluding this effect of resuspension, the vertical Mn flux in the Yellow Sea in summer was estimated as 268 nmol/m²day. | |||||
