| 内容記述 | SCUBA diving observation was made at 4 sites with the depth of sea bottom of 7 to 14 m in the coastal area, western Kyushu, May-June, 1990. The early juveniles of Pagrus were swimming keeping a distance of 3 to 5 cm and sometimes about 10 cm above the sea bottom without attaching to the bottom even for a moment. They swam vigorously without intermission at sites where copepod swarm was not present and their path was usually straight. The distance of a single dart ranged from 30 to 50 cm. On the other hand, they tended to stay still at a certain position at sites where the swarm developed. A Pagrus juvenile was moving its lips continuously at the edge of a copepod swarm in a hollow of a diameter about 20 cm on the sea bottom. The results of stomach contents survey for 5 individuals (13 to 17 mm in fork length) caught suggested that food habit of early juvenile Pagrus depended on the food conditions of their habitat. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 着底初期のマダイの生き残りにとって餌料生物の濃密な局所的分布,すなわちスオームの存在が必須であるという報告があることから,天然マダイ稚魚の遊泳と摂餌行動が主要餌料であるかいあし類のスオームとどのように関わっているかを海洋現場において研究するための予備的調査として潜水調査を行った.1990年5月23日から6月12日までの4カ日の昼間に長崎半島西岸の水深10mを中心とする4地点において著者の1名と専門のダイバー1名が延べ14時間のスキューバ潜水を行い,マダイ稚魚を探索した.都合40尾のマダイ(全長約15-40mm)を視認し,5尾(尾叉長13-17mm)を捕獲することが出来た.マダイは,流れが緩慢であり,かいあし類のスオームがよく発達した場所に少なく,その逆の場所に比較的に多かった.このことはスオームの存在が必ずしもマダイの着底を誘引する因子とは限らないことを示している.マダイ稚魚の遊泳層は海底上3~5cm,時には10cmであり,魚体が海底に接することはなかった.マダイは,スオームが形成されていない場所では30-50cmを1単位とする直線的で機敏な泳ぎを断続的に繰り返したが,スオームの発達した場所では遊泳活動は緩慢で,ひとつところに停滞しがちであった.あるマダイ(全長15mm程度)が直径約20cm,深さ数cmの窪みの中,海底上5-6cmの場所で口を間断なく開閉しているのを認めた.そこは窪みに形成されたかいあし類スオームの縁辺部の潮下であった.ロの開閉が捕食,呼吸のいずれかを確認すべくダイパーがマダイまでの距離約40cmまで接近したとき機敏に逃避され,それはできなかった.捕獲したマダイの胃内容物は,かいあし類スオームの発達した場所のものがスオーム構成種を捕食していたのに対して,スオームの発達していない場所のものはよこえび類,あみ類,ハルパクチクス亜目かいあし類など底楼甲殻類を主食していた.これらのことはマダイの柔軟な食性を示唆している. | |||||
