The apparatus consisted of a stratiform tower of six sieves of vinyl chloride cylinders (29 cm in dia., 5 cm in height) with filtering gauzes of mesh opening ranging from 10 - 200 µm. Fifty liters of fresh sea water was poured out of a cup into the top sieve, and the filtrate is filtered in turn. Body size distributions of copepod nauplii, copepodids and tintinnids in sieves showed the specification respectively. Mean body width of copepod nauplii, copepodids and tintinnids of each fraction were closely related to the mesh size. The biomass of microzooplankton in each fraction is easily estimated from counting the number of individuals in each taxon on the basis of the information of individual body weight.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"(1) 網目幅の異なる6種のふるいを重ねた装置を作り,採集後まもないホルマリン未固定の生鮮な海水をふるい分け,各ふるい毎に徴小動物プランクトンを得た.
