The survey was repeated four times during 24 hours and 50 minutes along the observation line within the same time interval to eliminate diurnal and semidiurnal tidal component. In the Tsushima island area SW-WSW direction residual current component was dominant in the layer from surface to 50 m depth. In the other area, the flow direction was NE-ENE except part of the coastal waters of Fukuoka Pref., where residual current was scarcely measured.
