アコヤガイの挿核手術前に行なわれる仕立作業によって,貝の酸素消費量に変化が生じるか否かを調べた。\n2) 仕立作業中の竹籠内における溶存酸素量は,およそ外囲水の酸索量の増減に比例して増減するが,常に外囲水より低い値を示し,さらに仕立処理の経過につれてその値が外囲水のそれに近づく傾向がみられた。すなわち,仕立の進行に伴なう貝の酸素消費量の減少が推定された。\n3) このことを明確にするために,仕立処理中の貝について水槽内で酸素消費量を測定した。それによれば仕立処理当初の値が,正常な貝の酸素消費量の106%であったものが,4日目,6日目にはそれぞれ89%,80%に減少した(貝肉1g1時間当り)。これによって上記の推定が裏付けされた。\n4) 本実験において,実験開始後4時間までの貝肉1g1時間当りの酸素消費量は,水温25℃において最低0.022cc最高0.087cc平均 0.051ccであった。森1,2)の実験では水温19~20.2℃において0.02~0.07ccおよび21~23℃で2~5cc,沢野4)の実験では20℃において0.10~0.14ccである。これらの実験値の相違を説明できる資料はない。\n5) 溶存酸素量と貝の酸素消費量との関係は,本実験において明確に示されず,実験開始後2~3時間目の酸素消費量が最も大きく,この時の溶存酸素量は 2.0~3.4cc/l であった。この結果は沢野の「溶存酸素量と貝の酸素消費量とは正の相関を持つ」とする説に一致していると考えられる部分もあるが,完全には一致してない。逆に森の「外部環境水中の酸素含量が0.5cc/l
