| 内容記述 | Yearling of pearl oyster, Pinctada martensii(Dunker), 29-36 mm. in shell hight were reared by artificial diet in the laboratory. The experiment in 10 days period was made three times from May 28 to June 30, 1964. The equipment (Fig. 1) consists of a culture vessel (water 15 l.), filter (9 l. of water and 6 l. of gravel) and food vessel (7 l.); 3 vessels are linked by glass tubes as illustrated. Three sets of equipment were made in the study. The water and food were circulated by air to the vessel with test animals from filter vessel and food vessel, respectively. The water from filter was sent to culture vessle throughout the rearing with 4-hours rest twice a day; the water from food vessel to culture vessel was circulated without rest, and new water carring food material was substituted prior to the resting hours of the filter. The diet consists of soybean, polished rice and fish-meal, each of which was ground in particls measuring less than ten micron, and the material was suspended in sea water (Fig. 1). The proximate composition of diets were shown in Table 1. Handred mg. in dry weight of food material was supplied for ten test animals placed in the culture vessel. The growth of oyster was interpreted from the combination of date derived from experiments designed as shown in Table 2, where differential factors in the period of test(reflected on temperature, Fig. 3), kind of food materials and 3 equipments used are assembled, as well as groups of test animals. The actual growth of the shell was measured on the weight of whole body (10 shells), which was weighed in water at the end of each 10 days rearing. The results of tests are summarized as follows. In 30 days period ten oysters gained weight of 2.105g. on soybean diet, 2.410 g. on rice and 0.325g. on fish-meal on an average of 3 groups of test animals. The former two kinds of diet brought up better growth than the oysters (1.780g.) in natural sea water around the laboratory (Fig. 3). Also, the growth of the oysters by three different food materials was calculated on the basis of rice powder deriving 86% for soybean and 12% for fish-meal, after the corrections of the data checked against period, animal sample and equipment (Table 3). It was confirmed from the present study that the pearl oyster, and perhaps many other bivalves, utilize in higher extent soybean and polished rice as nutritional element. The experiment also suggests that the growth of oyster is influenced mainly by the content of carbohydrate (suger substance) diet, and the vegetative protein contained in soybean is digested fairly well by the animal. |
