The morphological characteristics of two specimens collected in 2020 from the coast of the Kii Peninsula, the middle part of Honshu Island (50 m depth), matched those previously described. This finding extends the northernmost range of this species in the North Pacific. We proposed a new Japanese name, Noichigo-nankai-hitode, for this species.
