| 内容記述 | This study was designed to estimate the daily compensation depth for Laminaria longissimi in the subtidal zone at Kushiro, Hokkaido. The daily compensation depth was graphically determined as the abscissa of the point, where the curves showing vertical distributions of the daily radiation in a L. longissima community and the daily compensation radiation in L. longissima intersect. The daily radiation at different depths in the community was calculated from PAR on land, extinction coefficient of seawater, depth and LAI (leaf area index) of the community. Depth was corrected for the effect of tidal change by using the program for calculation of sea level. The daily compensation radiation in L. longissima was calculated from the model equation of photosynthesis-light curve. The daily compensation depth for L. longissima was about 4 m in July. This result is in agreement with the empirically known lower limit of a dense L. longissima community in the subtidal zone at Kushiro. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
