| 内容記述 | The authors carried out a demersal fish survey off the Pacific coast of the southern Kuril Islands using an otter trawler. The total catch of walleye pollock was 1,644kg and most of the fish were caught in 150-400m depth. The distribution pattern of walleye pollock was different between the areas off Shikotan Island and Etorofu Island. In the area off Shikotan Island, where bottom dips down steeply, walleye pollock aged 1, and 3 or more were distributed all together at the same depth, although those of 2 years old were very few. However, many walleye pollock aged 2 were caught in the area off Etorofu Island where continental slope is gentle at a depth of 200-300m. Also, walleye pollock aged 1, 2, and 3 or more were caught at 150-250m, 250-350m, and at a depth of more than 200m in the area off Etorofu Island, respectively. The above findings and results of stomach contents servey suggest that walleye pollock aged 1, 2 and 3 or more years old are probably distributed separately one another off Etorofu Island. Finally, the reason why walleye pollock aged 2 were very few in the area off Shikotan Island is discussed. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
