| 内容記述 | The oceanic squid, Ommastrephes bartrami (LESUEUR), is a very common species in the north-western Pacific but is rare in the Sea of Japan. Recently five specimens of this squid were caught in this marginal sea. Two of them were found in the common squid catches by a squid angler in the offshore waters on the 13 and 14 of September, 1978. They were young specimens. The other three were caught by a set net and scoop net in the coastal waters during October and November, 1981. Two of them were judged older but the other could not be observed. So far, five specimens of this rare squid have been subjected to closer observation in the Sea of Japan. Based on relevant information such as the fishing and biological conditions in the Pacific waters, it may be concluded that at least the specimens found in 1981 entered the Sea of Japan through Tsugaru Strait during the summer season. | |||||||||||
