| 内容記述 | Tokai reprocessing plant of spent nuclear fuel started regular operations in January 1981, following the hot test practised for a period from 1977 to 1980. Radiological impacts of nuclear release from this plant to the coastal waters were estimated on the assumption that the majority of radioactivity of waste effluents is occupied by that of radio-ruthenium. It is well known that radio-ruthenium in reprocessing waste water is adsorbed by suspended particles in sea water and deposits onto sea bed. The author analysed ¹⁰⁶Ru concentration of the sediments at points disposed close to, and about 10 km apart from, the outlet of waste pipe set onsea bed, for a period from 1973 to 1979. No distinguishable stratification of ¹⁰⁶Ru concentration was recognized in the surface layer of sediments of 10 to 15 cm deep. In the case of sediments sampled at muddy sea bed, it was clearly demonstrated that most of the ¹⁰⁶Ru was concentrated in the section of silt, and the concentrations in those of fine and medium sand were near to the silt, in order. | |||||
