| 内容記述 | A new diatom Thalassiosira bingensis is described. The specimens were collected at a fixed station off the Mukaishima Marine Biological Station, Hiroshima University, on October 17, 1951. This diatom has two labiate processes on the margin of the valve face. A row of strutted processes is on the margin of the valve face, which turns inwards near the labiate processes, and a row of them near the bottom of the valve mantle. These strutted processes are situated between areolae. Some tubular strutted processes are scattered on the valve face, which are situated inside areolae. A central group of areolae is formed by a small number of areolae, which is recognizable in light and transmission electron microscopes. This diatom has never been found elsewhere than the type locality. | |||||

| 内容記述 | 広島大学向島臨海実験所沖の定点で採集した標本につき,門 洋一氏は Thalassiosira sp.とCerataulina sp.として2種の珪藻の写真を示した(KADO,1954)。著者はこれらの標本の分与を受けて研究していたが,Cerataulina sp.の方は近年新種とされた Bellerochea horologicalis STOSCH(1977)であることがわかった。しかし,Thalassiosira sp.の方は未報告の新種であると思われるので,ここに新名と記述を与えて公表する。本種は直径95~150μmの短円筒形で,蓋殻面の小室は細かく10μmに18くらいである。小室は外側に開口し,内側に篩膜があり,殻頂縁に1輪,殻套下縁近くに1輪の,小室間に突出する有基突起列があり,殻頂面には多くの小室内に突出する有基突起と小室間に在る小粒状突起が散在し,明らかに Thalassiosira 属の1種である。殻頂縁には,中心に対し145°~170°の角度で2本のやや大きい唇状突起があり,殻頂縁の有基突起列は,その部分で唇状突起の内側へ曲っている。蓋殻中心には,8個くらいの小室がやや厚い小室壁で囲まれて,中心小室群を形成し,これに最も近い1本の有基突起は,殻頂面に散在する他の有基突起より僅かに長い。近年走査型電子顕微鏡を用いてこの属の新種がかなり発見されているが,本種と相似の突起の配列をもったものは他に見当らない。また,本種の分布については,今のところ原産地以外の水域からは全く情報がない。 | |||||
