| 内容記述 | The so-called "Shirogusare" or white disease of Porphyra have frequently caused a disastrous blow to the product of Nori cultivation in certain districts. There have been several reports on the so-called "Shirogusare", but the cause of the disease has not been clarified. The authors have observed the ultrastructure of the cell organs in some species of Porphyra thallus growing in healthy condition by an electron microscope, as the first step to make clear the cause of the disease. In the prsent paper, an electron microscopic method to observe Porphyra thallus is explained and some electoron microscopic photographs of the vegetative and antheridial cells of P. yezoensis, showing the existence of important cell organs like cell membrane (CM), chloroplast lamellae (CL), pyrenoid (P), mitochondria (M) and nucleus (N) with nucleolus (No) are presented. | |||||||||
