内容記述 | An experiment for advancing sexual maturity of the southern abalone, Haliotis gigantea, as related to temperature is dealt with in this report. The experiment was carried out from February to September, 1973 under three temperatures (14, 18, 22˚C) in a 12L-12D photo-period. The following results were obtained. The Gonad Index increase per day for this species was smaller than for H. discus hannai and H. discus which has already been reported by the authors (1974 a, b). In addition, there was no apparent relationship between the Gonad Index increase per day and the water temperature. Moreover, although sex is impossible to determine at first with the naked eye, sexes can gradually be distinguished by 120 days from the beginning of the experiment. The males and females are all easily recognized. However, this trend was not found to be related to temperature. Thus, the integral effective temperature could not be used as an index of the sexual maturation in this species. Spawning occured after 220 days in response to artificial stimuli of sea water irradiated by U.V. rays (2,537 A), but the results were not related to the water temperature in which the adults were reared. From these results, it may be concluded that temperature is not closely related to the sexual maturation of this species. In considering the geographical distribution and population genetics of Haliotidae it should be pointed out that other factors besides temperature may be involved in the advancement of the sexual maturiation of H. gigantea. | |||||||||

内容記述 | マダカアワビ Haliotis gigantea GMELIN の性成熟と温度との関係を解明する目的で,12L-12 Dの光周期下,3段階の定水温(14.2,18.4,22.2℃)で飼育を行ない,次の結果を得た.1. 生殖巣指数の増加速度は,エゾアワビH.discus hannai およびクロアワビ H. discusに比し小さい.また,生殖巣指数の増加速度係数と温度との関係は明瞭でなく,成熟有効積算温度の概念は,本種には適用できない. 2. 雌雄判明率の増加傾向は,飼育水温に関係ない.3. 飼育開始後220日前後で,水温のそれぞれ異なるいずれの実験においても,紫外線照射海水による産卵誘発刺激に応えて,放卵·放精がみられた.4. 以上の諸結果から,マダカアワビの性成熟に関与する要因として,温度の役割は相対的に低いと考えられる. | |||||||||
