| 内容記述 | The present paper is focused on kaleidoscopic changes in the dominancy in the pelagic fish community of the Pacific waters along the northeastern coasts of Japan. Closer examination of catch statistics since 1952 reveal various distinctive features of jack mackerel, common mackerel, anchovy and sardine populations. These are firstly the large fluctuations of their population strength, secondly, a dramatic change in the dominancy from one species to another and thirdly, a characteristic close correlation between the increase/decrease in population strength and expansion/reduction in area of distribution for each species. Although clear explanation for these changes have not been found so far, the possibility of competition among the pelagic fish is attractive in considering replacements of dominant species in the community. The present paper evaluates not only the effects of these changes but also effects of changes in the hydrographic environment on flactuations in local fisheries. | |||||||

| 内容記述 | 1952-1985年の漁獲統計資料を基にマアジ,マサバ,カタクチイワシ及びマイワシのいわゆる多獲性浮魚類の主として東北海区における漁況の時空間変動を解析し,(1)マアジ,カタクチイワシは太平洋南区に,マサバ,マイワシはそれより北寄りの太平洋中区にそれぞれ分布の中心を持ち,(2)それぞれの種はその資源の増大期には縁辺部へと分布を拡大し,逆に資源の減少期には分布の中心域へ分布を縮小していることを明らかにした.そして,(3)この地理的分布の変化に相関する資源変動は,東北海区では,(A)1950年代後半から1960年代はじめのマアジの減少に伴うマサバの急増,(B)1970年代前半のカタクチイワシの減少とそれに続くマサバの急減および(C)マイワシの急増という“卓越種の交替”として現象していることを示した.また,(4)卓越種の交替は地域漁況にも直接反映されているが,地域漁況の変動には局所的海洋現象の影響も無視できないことを,三陸沿岸定置網のマサバ漁況と三陸沖の暖水域の形成状態との相関関係を例に具体的に示した. | |||||||
