| 内容記述 | Hydrographic structure and distribution of dissolved oxygen, dissolved inorganic nutrients, and phytoplankton pigments were studied on three cross sections of the Kuroshio warm-core ring in March 1989. The core water was homogeneous in 10.0-10.6℃, 34.30-34.40 PSU, 26.39-26.40 of σ1, and 5.5-5.9 ml-O2/1 from the sea surface through 550 m in depth near the ring center. These homogeneous waters were surrounded by a thermocline and a halocline, below which were minimum temperature and salinity layers. Dissolved oxygen was highly concentrated (>6.0 ml-O2/1) from the surface layer to a depth of 500 m along the isopycnal contour of σ1=26.50, located in the thermocline around the homogeneous waters. Chlorophyll-rich (>0.25 μg/l) and nutrient-poor (<1.0 μmol-P/l) waters extended from sea surface to 500 m in depth inside the homogeneous waters and to 500-700 m under the offshore frontal boundaries to the Oyashio waters. Coccolithus pelagicus, cold water species of coccolithophores, dominated in some upper layers of the high chlorophyll a concentrations in the frontal zone. The distribution of phytoplankton-rich and nutrient-poor deep waters was possibly due to the submerging of the phytoplankton and water turbulence in the frontal boundaries of the ring. | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | 1989年3月に三陸沖暖水塊とその周辺海域において,水温,塩分,溶存酸素,栄養塩類および植物プランクトン色素の鉛直断面観測を行った.暖水塊中央には水温 10.0~10.6℃,塩分34.30~34.40 PSU,密度σ1 26.39~26.40,溶存酸素5.5~5.9ml/1,栄養塩0.8μmol-P/1以下,クロロフィルa0.25~0.5μg/1のほぼ均質な水塊が海表面から水深550mに存在した,溶存酸素の高濃度水は躍層内におけるσ1 26.50 の等密度面に沿って水深500mまで達していた.クロロフィルa(主体は円石藻 Coccolithus pelagicus)の高濃度水および栄養塩類の低濃度水は暖水塊と親潮水との前線域において,有光層のはるか下層水深700mまで見出された.暖水塊と親潮水との前線域における溶存酸素,クロロフィルa,栄養塩類の深層分布を引き起こした原因として,前線域の擾乱と植物ブランクトン細胞の沈降の可能性について考察した. | |||||||||||||
