| 内容記述 | Ultrastructural observations were made on mature eggs and spermatozoa of the Pacific saury, Cololabis saira. The egg membrane is composed of a thin outer layer and a thick highly differentiated inner layer with a reticulated structure. Remarkable attaching filaments which develop at two different locations on the egg surface : a bundle of microfibrils (about 20) in the micropylar region and a single filament on the equator of the egg. Possible role of these filaments seems to improve fertilization events in addition to being tools for attachment. The spermatozoon is a basic teleostean anacrosomal aquasperm with a bell shaped homogeneously electron-dense nucleus which has no deep axial nuclear fossa. The short midpiece contains about 6 mitochondria encircling the basal body of the flagellum as a sleeve; the flagellum bears a lateral fin. We suggest that the elongated feature of the head peculiar to this aquasperm may be associated with the unique mode of fertilization. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
