| 内容記述 | Number of rotifer (avg. lorica length of abult, 208-220µ) consumed daily by a larval and juvenile porgy at five different stages (4.9, 6.8, 8.6, 10.1 and 11.4 mm in avg. TL.), was studied to enable constant and sufficient supply of rotifers for the mass-production of fry. Effect of rotifers density (5 or 10 rotifers/ml) and prolonged lighting (1800 lx) upon the daily consumption, was also examined. The average number of rotifer consumed was estimated from changes in rotifer density through hourly observation for 24 hours 30 l circular plastic tanks containing the larvae (1500, 1000, 700, 300, and 200, respectively for the experiment 1-5). Difference in the rotifer density did not affect daily food consumption and relation between the number of rotifers consumed daily (F) and its total length (L) might be represented by the following equation : F=2.34L³·⁰⁵ ~10.36L²·³⁵. From these results, total number of rotifer required to raise one million larvae up to early juveniles (10 mm) is calculated to be 185 billions. Only larvae with 11.4 mm and 4.9 mm avg. TL. evidently fed rotifers all night long under lighting condition. | |||||||||||
