| 内容記述 | For morphological investigation of the vascular plexus (rete mirabile) constituting the counter current heat exchanger of young bluefin tuna (90~1,100 g), the following three techniques were tested : (1) casting method using Neoprene Latex 601A or Mercox, (2) soft X-ray radiography using Konrei 400 or Micropaque as contrast media, (3) injection of India ink. The casting method with either Neoprene Latex 601A or Mercox was found to be applicable for this purpose. As to make the whole casts of the retia milabilia in lateral muscles, the casting materials should be injected through either the site where the cutaneous artery arise from the dorsal aorta or where the cutaneous vein is connected with the cuvierian duct. Optimum injection pressure of casting materials was somewhere between 100~200 mmHg for Mercox and 300mmHg or more for Neoprene Latex 601A. Soft X-ray radiograph of the tuna with Micropaque showed sharp vascular arrangement. Soft X-ray radiograph with Konrei 400 exhibited a diffuse image of blood vessels. From the thin slice (1~1.5 mm in thickness) prepered from lateral muscles injected with India ink, the arrangement and the number of blood vessels in the retia mirabilia could not be elucidated under an optical microscope, because the small vessels in the retia mirabilia are in intimate contact with one another. From the results, the casting methods with Neoprene Latex or Mercox, or soft X-ray radiograph with Micropaque can successfully be used for morphological investigation of the vascular plexus. | |||||||||||||||||
