| 内容記述 | Thirty-nine out of 348 precocious male and 11 out of 18 precocious male from desmolt in Hokkaido-Nikko strain of masu salmon became smolt in the following spring. In Hokkaido strain 11 out of 329 precocious male became smolt, but no smolt was found in 5 precocious male from desmolt. No smolt appeared in 283 precocious male and in 28 precocious male from desmolt in Koide strain. The difference in mean body length between smolt and parr within the same group of precocious male was little, but the variance of the latter in body length was about twice as large as that of the former. This suggests that the body length has some influence on smoltification of precocious male. Mean condition factor of smolts from precocious male in Hokkaido-Nikko and Hokkaido strain were 12.19 and 12.06 respectively. On the other hand the means of parr from the same group were 14.09 and 14.18 respectively. The frequency distributions of condition factor in smolt and parr partially overlapped each other, but the differences in the means between smolt and parr were significant at 1% level. These values for smolt from precocious male were large as compared with the values of smolt from 0 age parr which were 11.30 and 11.49. In the artificial seawater challenge test 3 out of 18 smolt from precocious male and 8 out of 20 smolt from 0 age parr survived for 1 week. Survival rate of the former was lower than that of the latter, but these were extremely poor in both cases. The cause is indistinct, but survived fish seemed to have a certain seawater adaptability. | |||||||||||
