内容記述 Free amino acid concentrations were examined in whole blood, plasma, and erythrocyte of carp Cyprinus carpio. The two methods were used to determine the amino acid concentrations in erythrocytes: calculation from the whole blood and plasma concentrations with correction by hematocrit values and direct measurement of erythrocytes washed with 0.7% saline. Levels of almost all amino acids in the washed erythrocytes were significantly lower than the calculated values. This result shows that amino acids in the erythrocytes were leached out while washing and the analysis of washed erythrocytes might result in gross underestimation of amino acid levels. The recovery of aromatic amino acids in the washed erythrocytes were especially lower than those of the remaining amino acids. Whereas, 100% of aspartic acid was retained. Thus, the erythrocyte membrane seems to possess specific transport systems for certain amino acids. The major amino acids detected in the plasma were proline, methionine sulfoxide, and taurine which accounted for 21.4%, 15.6%, and 14.9% of the total amount of amino acids, respectively. While, taurine represented 65.6 % in the erythrocytes, and proline, methionine sulfoxide, and alanine also showed relatively high levels. Levels of taurine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, cystathionine, γ- aminobutylic acid, and ammonia were much higher in the erythrocytes than in the plasma.
