| 内容記述 | In order to find out morphological differences between both sexes of sturgeon, we examined several characters of 6-year-old hybrid sturgeon (Huso huso ♀ × Acipenser ruthenus ♂), so-called "bester" introduced from the Soviet Union to Japan in 1980 as fertilized eggs and reared in our laboratory. Total body length and body weight of the female are greater than those of the male. On the other hand, the length of the urogenital papilla of the male is clearly greater than that of the female. We can clearly distinguish between male and female 6-year-old bester by examining the urogenital papilla, although there is a possibility that the sexual dimorphism may change in fish approaching sexual maturity. | |||||
