| 内容記述 | In recent years, it has become difficult to maintain the quality of marine diesel oil because of a increasing demand for the middle distillates of petroleum products. The use of low cetane index fuel made from a blend of cracked gas oil is a special problem for small-sized high speed diesel engines found in fishing boats. The relationship between fuel with cetane index of 30 to 61, and startup performance and combustion analysis, were examined in detail in the experimental study made use of small-sized high speed engines. It was discovered that the startup performance of engine was remarkably influenced by the cetane index of fuel. The startup period was long when using low cetane index fuel (particularly that less than 45). Also, the fluctuation of engine speed increased after startup when low cetane index fuel. Interestingly, the smoke density of the exhaust gas diminished with a corresponding decrease in the fuel's cetane index. This effect was explained in terms of a tendency for the combustion period to be shortened when using low cetane index fuel. The following conclusion was obtained from this study. The cetane index for marine diesel oil must be maintained above 45 for the use of small-sized high speed diesel engines. | |||||
