| 内容記述 | Two types of two-meter beam trawls were modified to increase the catch efficiency and stability on towing. Modifications were done by lengthening the tickler chain and ground chain, 4.5 m and 4.0 m respectively, and added weight to the frame of the beam trawl. The catch efficiency for juvenile Japanese flounder of the improved beam trawl (NRIFE I and II) were estimated compared with the density collected by the surrounding net used by SCUBA on a sandy flat bottom, 10 m deep. The catch efficiency of the NRIFE II beam trawl for juvenile Japanese flounder was higher than that of the conventional type of beam trawls. We believe that the NRIFE II beam trawl will be useful to the ecological study of juvenile and young flatfish. | |||||||||||
