| 内容記述 | It is expected to reduce the NOx emission by using alcohol as fuel for diesel engines. The effects of ethanol blended fuel on engine performance have been investigated at constant rpm using a single cylinder diesel engine. NOx emission decreased slightly with the increase in the ethanol blended ratio. On the other hand, CO emission and fuel consumption became worse. Ethanol with a cetane number of about 8 has a much too low ignition quality, so ethanol blended ratio affects the ignition delay that controls the engine performances such as thermal efficiency, smoothness of operation, misfiring and exhaust emissions. It was difficult to operate the engine smoothly on an ethanol 40% blended fuel. In conclusion, ethanol blended fuel didn't become effective to reduce the exhaust emissions for diesel engines. | |||||||||||
