| 内容記述 | Field data on bottom layer flow were obtained for a period of about three years off Kuji in Ibaraki prefecture in Japan. The observation point was 140.7 degrees east longitude, 36.5 degrees north latitude, 8.6 km off the mouth of Kuji river and the depth was 40m. Current meter with sensors of temperature and salinity was placed 2 m above the bottom with mooring. The sampling intervals were five minutes, and the instrument was recovered and newly set up every month. In this paper, the characteristics of the velocity are considered as follows : (1) The maximum velocity was observed when the typhoon or depression was passing, and the maximum value was 94 cm/s in raw data, 47 cm/s in hourly averaged data. (2) The frequency of the velocity 15 cm/s or below accounted for about 90 % and that of 5-10 cm/s about 50 %. These results are useful for the design of submarine structures such as artificial reefs. | |||||||
