内容記述 | Focussing on the variability of water mass distribution in the East China Sea, we considered temporal and spatial variations of SST, and described schematical representations of water mass distributions in both winter and summer in the East China Sea. From those results, in winter, it was found out that the Kuroshio water called the Kuroshio branch reached to ,28°N, 124°E northeast of the Taiwan, the Yellow Sea cold water expanded to 27°N east of the Kuroshio branch (north of the Miyako Island), and the northern limit of the Kuroshio water was at 32°N and overlay westward to the Danjyo Islands (32°N, 128°E). And in summer, it was found that the distribution area of the Kuroshio branch became smaller than in winter and the Kuroshio water spread on the continental shelf than in winter off the westcoast of the Kyushu Island. Additionally, from the variance and the average year position of the Kuroshio water west of the Kyushu Island, it was found out that the position of the Kuroshio water was so stable in winter. However, it is suggested that the year-to-year variations were remarkably large in summer from the variance of the average year position. The average year position of the Kuroshio water has been shifted westward gradually since 1987, as its annual changes were analyzed from the 13-months running mean value. Moreover, the autocorrelation function calculated by the running mean value shows a strong peak of 27-month lag time, that is, periodicity in 2.25 years could be recognized. | |||||||||||
